We are pleased to announce that all new units will be 'retail hardened' famous brand devices from the world's leading manufacturers such as IBM, NCR, Toshiba, Panasonic and EPSON.

Statistically there is less on-site maintenance and decreased failure rates with this equipment. The company have therefore decided to offer superior hardware with no increase in price. Financial Director Lyn Griffin says "Customer satisfaction is paramount. We have therefore decided to absorb the cost of offering only famous brand equipment."

An NCR touchscreen till

The Gpos Touchscreen tills and back office systems are among the most advanced, state-of-the-art epos software systems available anywhere. Designed for bars, restaurants and shops, the Touchscreen tills are the most flexible available. Our systems operate in real-time and have many options including restaurant table management, barcoding systems, stock control, points system, and Internet Member Statement browsing.

We use only high quality branded tills from well known manufacturers. Featuring advanced functionality and long term reliability, these units come complete with a large touch screen, retail hardened design, and a complete suite of optional peripherals, including card readers, rear display, and fingerprint sensor.

Printer notification

We use high performance Epson thermal printers. They are a must have for any fast moving retail or hospitality environment. Produce receipts, bills and statements at a staggering 47 lines per second, without the distracting noise associated with impact printers. On average these printers last between 8 and 10 years, if not longer. They are therefore extremely good value for money.

Additional printing options we offer include dedicated kitchen food order printing (with option for audible bell to alert kitchen staff) and barcode label printing.

Barcode scanners
Barcode scanner

Particularly useful in golf pro shops and busy bars, our systems can use high quality laser Barcode Scanners. Use these to quickly scan in products to sell, or to generate barcodes for new products. You can have an unlimited number of products on the system, as each item doesn't need to be displayed on the till screen. Use the scanners along with an Epson barcode printer.


Our systems are developed in house by Open Solutions, and are compatible with software written by many other vendors, including Croft, BRS, Bedford Beck, WebCreative, Intelligent Golf, EndX and Intelligent Gaming. There are automated features such as direct exporting of information to Microsoft Word and Excel with a single mouse click.

All software runs on the latest Windows® platforms.

OSIS software

Osis is the back office complement to Open Solutions till systems, and has some revolutionary features in terms of club administration, reporting and integration with other systems. Everything is fully integrated and runs in real time - administration is made easy and seamless.

You can expect features such as Microsoft Office® integration, unlimited number of custom reports, linking to membership and access control systems, accounts integration and real time stock control.

Booking system

Our software can integrate with The MyTeeTime online bookings system from Bedford Beck, as well as BRS and Intelligent Golf. An extra button can be added to the till, which allows members and visitors to book tee times easily.

Customer points system

The points system creates an incentive for your members by allowing them to accrue points by spending money. It is flexible and allows you to create your own rules. You could for example set all beers to accrue 2 points per pint purchased. After a member has purchased 10 pints and earned 20 points, that member may be entitled to a free beer. You are able to set your own parameters, enabling you to create incentives for people to spend more money at your bar, restaurant or shop.

The points system may be used in conjunction with, or as an alternative to, the percentage based member discounts. It is also a very useful tool to use alongside your membership system. Competition / Handicap Systems

Golf Handicapping Systems from the likes of HandicapMaster and Intelligent Golf can include Touchscreen Player Score Input, Leaderboard Displays and direct linking to our Gpos system. Open Solutions can supply and maintain your touchscreens and card readers.

Door access control

Our access control systems use the same cards and the same card technologies as the tills. This includes magnetic swipe cards and our own proprietary proximity cards. Proximity cards are the more secure type and are also contactless, meaning you simply wave the card over a reader. We can also offer integration and data export options for your existing system, including Paxton and IET (Wintacs), which use the same card technology as our tills.

A door access system can save you money by doing away with the need for a door attendant. A card reader and keypad, along with door controller and magnetic lock, can be installed on a main entrance, locker rooms, external gate or barrier etc. All of these are linked to the same central database, which is also linked to the till system. Add timezones, user groups and special PIN codes, all tailored around your opening hours and access requirements.

Swipe cards and proximity keyfobs
Our tills can be upgraded to work with swipe cards and proximity keyfobs. Regardless of which system you use, your members will only need to carry one card in order to be recognised by your entire system. This means they can use the same card they use to gain entry to the premises, to also purchase items at the bar. Currently we supply magnetic swipe cards, proximity keyfobs, proximity cards, plus a range of accessories including lanyards and holders. We hold stock of most items and next day delivery is available if you hold a credit account with us. Prices are very competitive, and we offer discounts based on minimum order quantities. If you are currently using magnetic swipe cards and you're looking to upgrade your system, in most cases we can re-use your existing cards, as well as supplying extra stock of them in future. For new orders, design and proofing is at no extra cost.
