Guildford is getting fully integrated

Leading Surrey rugby club extends its investment in GMS with integrated EPoS technology from Open Solutions

Early in the New Year, Guildford Rugby Club, one of the largest and best community based amateur sports clubs in the South East, will be operating five new touch screen EPoS tills from Open Solutions in its recently refurbished clubhouse. The Open Solutions EPoS system is the only one that can be fully integrated with the RFU’s Game Management System (GMS) software.

Already a major user of GMS, Guildford’s decision makers opted for the Open Solutions EPoS till system because its integration enables additional operational advantages, along with the provision of some new membership services.

By using the same membership database for both GMS and the EPoS system, the club will now have a robust, seamless and well proven solution to its management information, administrative, bar and catering, and bookings needs.

In turn, Guildford’s members will be able to go online and see their bar balances, pay for everything such as membership renewals, functions, match fees and kit, and top up online from home or work 24/7.

That means Guildford’s keeping pace with modern lifestyles, enabling its members to do club-related things online, and therefore much more easily and conveniently.

The five new PoSBank Apexa G touch screen tills will be linked to the club’s own PaymentSense PDQ machines, and it will also re-use the members’ existing swipe cards. The five tills run Windows 10 using solid state drives for faster processing, and as you’d expect, are splash proof and very robust. Staff will now sign on using their own unique key fob Dallas keys.

With Open Solutions already working with another rugby club to test a ticketing system that uses the same database to facilitate identification of members (and thus who’s not a member!) and paid tickets for match bookings, Guildford can look forward to more opportunities in the future, thanks to smarter technology.
